Steven Serve Jr., age 91, of Bourbonnais passed away Friday, January 2, 2026, at his home.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Rev. Marcin Michalak will officiate the Mass. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Steven was born October 9, 1934 in Chicago, and raised by his father from a young age, Steven Serve Sr. Steven married Ellen Lind on May 20, 1990.
Steven was a supervisor at Roper for 28 years and was an Aseptic Processor at Armour Pharmaceutical for 14 years, retiring in 1999. He was an avid sports fan: Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and Notre Dame football.
Steven loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was a loyal and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Steven was known as “Grandpa Tricky” for his magic tricks. He had a great sense of humor and was quick with a comeback.
Steven enjoyed playing the Lotto and frequent trips to Las Vegas. He enjoyed fixing and tinkering with things around the house.
Steven was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served from 1956-1960.He was a devout parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley and loved the Lord.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Ellen Serve of Bourbonnais; one stepson, Jim (Carol) Billadeau of Eureka, MO; two stepdaughters, Lori Billadeau of Grant Park and Theresa (Jay) LaMie of Germantown, TN; one brother, Peter (Maureen) Serve of Eureka, MO; seven step grandchildren, JEnnifer Love, Jesse Billadeau, Jacob LaMie, Hope Simpson, Samantha Musselman, Lucy Billadeau, and Jia Billadeau; eight step great-grandchildren, Dalton Love, Trenton Gramling, Grace Simmon, Nyla Simmon, Connor LaMie, Jude LaMie, Sammuel Simpson, and George Simpson; and several nieces and nephews.Steven is preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Steve Sr. & Dorothy Serve; one sister, Janis LeCouq; and one step granddaughter, Nicole Simmon.
