Joseph J. Giacchino, age 96 of Bradley, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee. 


A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley. Memorials may be made for masses at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Interment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.


Joseph was born on January 10, 1930 in Kankakee, the son of Dominic and Angela (DeCarlo) Giacchino. Joseph married Theresa Marsalli on September 3, 1955 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Kankakee.


Joseph retired from Kroehler Manufacturing after thirty-three years of employment. He worked for an additional fifteen years at Hurst Security. He was a member of the American Legion Post 85 and V.F.W. Post 2857 in Aroma Park. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Joe was awarded the Korean Service Medal with a Bronze Star. Joseph was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley.


Surviving is his wife, Theresa of Bradley; three sons, Joseph (Julie) Giacchino, Jerome (Sue) Giacchino, James (Candace) Giacchino; eight grandchildren, Jenna (Matthew) Brooks, Juliane (Jonathan) Anderson, Justin (Kristin) Giacchino, Anne (Max) Diaz, Maria Giacchino, Nathan (Danae) Giacchino, Jarrett (Gretchen) Giacchino, Alyssa Giacchino; fourteen great grandchildren, Kello, Giabella and Veda Brooks, Avery and Harper Anderson, Isla and Luca Giacchino, Dominic, Alexander, and Irene Diaz, Julianna and Gianna Giacchino Vincent and Ava Giacchino; and one nephew, Michael Gierke.


Joseph is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Vincent, two sisters-in-law, Marie Marsalli and Lola (Harold) Gierke; and one nephew, Ronald Gierke.
