It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jaymie Loretta Falkenhan, who peacefully lost her courageous battle with cancer on July 27, 2026, at the age of 60.
Jaymie was born April 16, 1966 in Kankakee, the daughter of Herman and Therese (Settles) Falkenhan.
Jaymie was a parishioner of St Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley, IL.
Jaymie was the kind of person who never met a stranger. Whether you had known her for years or had just met her moments before, she had a remarkable ability to make you feel welcomed, valued, and like an old friend. She could talk your ear off, make you laugh until your stomach hurt, and leave a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A proud Chicago sports fan, Jaymie faithfully cheered on her beloved Cubs and Bears. Her passion for her teams was matched only by her passion for the people she loved. Her life's work was devoted to caring for others.
Throughout her career, she compassionately served individuals with developmental disabilities, the elderly, those living with mental illness and addiction, and countless family members during illness and at the end of life. Caring for others was never simply a job to Jaymie—it was who she was. She had an extraordinary heart and gave of herself freely, often putting the needs of others ahead of her own.
To her nieces and nephews, Jaymie was so much more than an aunt. She loved each of them with every piece of her heart and treasured every opportunity to be part of their lives. The bond she shared with them was one of unconditional love, endless encouragement, and unforgettable memories.
Jaymie also had a gift for bringing joy and laughter wherever she went. Whether she was making people laugh with her goofy antics or entertaining everyone with her unforgettable Mick Jagger dance moves, she had a way of brightening even the darkest days. Her laughter was contagious, her kindness was genuine, and her generosity knew no bounds.
Although cancer ultimately claimed her life, it does not define it. Jaymie will be remembered not for the illness she endured, but for the compassion she shared, the laughter she created, and the immeasurable love she gave so freely.
She leaves behind a family who adored her, countless friends whose lives were made better because of her, and a legacy of kindness, selflessness, and unwavering love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Jaymie's love, laughter, and generous spirit will remain with us forever.
Surviving are two sisters, Jill Kane of Peoria, AZ, Kelly (Dennis) Smith of Gilbertsville, KY; two brothers, Kurt (Carolyn) Falkenhan, Scott (Pam) Falkenhan, all of Kankakee, and many nieces and nephews.
Jaymie is preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Marc Falkenhan.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026 at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. The memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Inurnment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais.
