This Sunday, Fr. Mark reflects on giving thanks to God for the people who have shaped our lives. As he celebrates his 60th birthday and 35 years of priesthood, he shares a special story about Sister Beata, whom he first met as a young boy during a pilgrimage in Poland, and the lasting lessons her friendship has taught him about faith, generosity and gratitude.

How to Forgive in the Truth---Sept. 6, 2026
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus calls us to handle conflict with love, truth, and a desire for reconciliation. Fr. Mark reminds us that rather than holding grudges or responding in anger, we are called to lovingly address wrongdoing and seek to “win back” our brother or sister. Our response should always reflect Christ’s desire for healing and unity.

My Mother is in Heaven---August 30, 2026
In this week’s reflection, Fr. Mark shares the special meaning of celebrating his 60th birthday at the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa. Born on her feast day, August 26, 1966, he reflects on Mary as his spiritual mother and on her loving care throughout his life and 35 years of priesthood. These thoughts and the accompanying photograph were sent by Fr. Mark from his current trip to Poland, especially for the people of St. Joseph Parish.

The Rock of Our Salvation---August 23, 2026
This week, Fr. Mark reflects on Jesus’ words to Peter, the “rock” upon which He would build His Church. He reminds us that the Church was established by Christ, is both human and divine, and, despite the weaknesses of its members, will ultimately prevail against the powers of evil. Fr. Mark also emphasizes that the Church’s primary mission is to evangelize and sanctify—to lead people to Christ and bring His light into the world.

The Power of Faith---August 16, 2026
In this week’s reflection, Fr. Mark explores the Canaanite woman’s remarkable faith and persistence in asking Jesus to heal her daughter. He reflects on why Jesus tested her faith and how her trust, like that of the Roman centurion, was praised as “great.” Fr. Mark reminds us that strong faith is strengthened through perseverance and challenges us to trust in the Lord with the same confidence.
