Walter W. “Walt” Watt, age 87, of Bourbonnais, passed away Monday, July 20, 2026 at Bourbonnais Grove.


He was born March 18, 1939 in Kankakee, the son of William & Edith M. Broadstreet Watt.

Walt married Janet L. Cross on July 31, 1965 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Kankakee.


He worked from 1957 to 1995 at Kraft General Foods and retired from the accounting office.


He was a member of the Kankakee Jaycees. Walt enjoyed golfing and was an avid jogger/runner (logging 25,000 miles).


Walt was a veteran of the U.S. Army.


Surviving are his wife, Janet Watt of Bourbonnais, IL; two sons, Mike (Traci) Watt of Compton, IL and Brian Watt of Lawrence, KS; one daughter-in-law, Kelly Thor of Lawrence, KS; one brother, Gary (Evelyn) Watt of Houston, TX; one sister-in-law, Karen Watt of Round Lake, IL; and four grandchildren, Ian Watt, Collin Watt, Shelby Watt, and Evan Watt.


Walter is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Art Watt.


Cremation rites have been accorded. Private inurnment will be held at All Saints Cemetery in Bourbonnais. Deacon Patrick Skelly will officiate the service.


Memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice. Arrangements by Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
