Nancy J. Palmateer, age 69, of Bradley passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. 

Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 25, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

Nancy was born April 29, 1954 in Kankakee, the daughter of Richard & Kathleen (Cumbow) Massey. Nancy married William “Bill” Palmateer on April 28, 2001, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. He preceded her in death on May 15, 2018.

Nancy worked at Manteno School District and was a tax professional. She enjoyed camping at Grandview Bend, fishing, and gardening. Nancy loved her Tuesday night dinners with her grandchildren. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley.

Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Jennifer & Ron Thornton of Bradley and Christine Rogers of Bradley; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Cheryl & Vic Peters of Seattle, WA, Karen Massey of Decatur, and Madonna & Tim Tramel of Ft. Worth, TX; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Dave & Cindy Massey of Bradley, John Massey of AK, and Geri Massey of TX, four grandchildren, Jordan Thornton, Kody Kohler (Alexis Nelson), Tyler (Nich) Goodrich, and Kory Rogers; one great-grandchild, Rilynn Kohler; mother, Kathleen Massey of Aroma Park; Bill’s daughters & family; Bill’s brothers, Mike (Val) Palmateer of Manteno and Bruce (Melody) Palmateer of Chebanse; her daughters father, Larry Tusinski of Bradley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, Nancy is preceded in death by her father and one brother, Don Massey.
