Thomas “Tom” L. Zasada, 72, of St. Anne passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond Heights, MO.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, with visitation time starting one hour prior. Inurnment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at 1p.m.

Tom was born on Nov. 26, 1944, in Kankakee, the son of Leo P. and Lucille A. (Tobaski) Zasada. He married Mary Ann Pruiett on June 24, 1972, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley.

After over 45 years of employment, Tom retired from Bunge Oil as a Boiler Room Operator. After retirement, he enjoyed quality time with his friends, fishing, and was a Lionel Train collector and operator. Tom was a 1962 graduate of BBCHS and looked forward to his high school class reunions.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley and a veteran of the United States Army.
Tom was the essence of a true cancer survivor, battling for over 25 years. He lived his life to the fullest and was blessed by many.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Zasada of St. Anne; three children Mike (Kelly) Zasada of Courtland, IL, Kevin (Tara) Zasada of Orlando, FL, and Jennifer (Mark) Kienlen of Webster Groves, MO; two granddaughters Aryssa Zasada of Rylander, WI and Elodie Zasada of Orlando, FL; and two step-granddaughters Jordan and Molly. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma via the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
