Tammy Furgal

Tammy Marie Furgal, age 47, of Manteno passed from this life to the next on Sunday, December 25, 2022.

Tammy was born on March 9, 1975, to Bob and Mary (Chrusciel) Furgal. She is the younger sister to Renee (Gary) Town and Bobby (Angela) Furgal. She is the older sister to John (Terrie) Furgal. She is the proud aunt to Emilee, Ben, Matthew, and Abby Furgal. She is the fiancé to Randy Burton and dog Mom to Molly.

She has been a life-long member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bradley where she served in Hospitality.

She graduated from BBCHS in 1993. She was no stranger to hard work, whether in the gym, her yard, or on the job. She spent 12 years at Municipal Bank in the accounting department. She worked at Wal-mart for 28 years, starting as a cashier and ending her career there as the Vision Store manager.

Tammy loved spending time with her many dear friends, most of which became her faithful prayer warriors over the years. She especially enjoyed their memorable times together like vacations to sandy beaches, trips to Shipshewana, concerts, and the simple joy of sharing a meal together.

When Randy came along, her stubborn streak was no match for his humor. His love and support have most definitely made the last 5 years more bearable. For the past 6 years, Tammy has courageously battled cancer. She has endured all of the typical horrors of this disease along with clinical trial after trial in an effort to move on with her life cancer free. However, not once would you hear her complain about her lot in life. When asked how she was, she quickly and consistently answered, “I’m blessed!” She sincerely meant it and lived out her faith each and every day.

Now that she’s passed, please don’t say, “She lost her battle to cancer.” That statement couldn’t be farther from the truth. When Jesus calls you home, that is not a defeat but a victory. Although those of us who love and appreciate this incredible soul will mourn her absence, we are thankful for the promise that she is now in the presence of our Savior. Until we meet again, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:21

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the Noon funeral Mass on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
