Louis Paul “Mr. C” Campos, age 83, of Bradley, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017, at his home. 

A memorial visitation was held 10:00 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. memorial service on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Deacon Leon Fritz officiated at the service. Inurnment followed at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Cremation Rites were accorded.


Louis was born June 10, 1934 in Mexico City, Mexico, the son of Victor & Isabella Beccera Campos. He married Fredricka A. Kaysen on July 22, 1961 at St. Catherine of Genoa in Chicago. He worked in shipping and receiving. 

Louis was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley, a member of the Holy Name Society and also a member of the Bradley-Bourbonnais Senior Club. He loved camping, woodworking, and fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. After retirement, he babysat for his grandson, Robert. Louis was also a veteran of the U.S. Army serving 1957-1963.

Surviving are his wife, Fredricka Campos of Bradley; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mark Campos of Westmont and Fred & Linda Campos of Quincy; two daughters and one son-in-law, Rosemary L. & Russ A. Schmalz of Bradley and Margaret Campos of Bourbonnais; five grandchildren, Robert Chase Schmalz, Rebecca Marie Schmalz, Crystal Marie Campos, Tristan Campos, and Christy Campos; one brother-in-law, Ronald & Barbara Kaysen of Florida, one sister-in-law, Gloria G. Nolan of Bradley; his uncle & aunt, Chico & Enna Beccera of Chino Valley, AZ; and many nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and one brother.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
