Leo G. Salinas, age 69 of Bourbonnais, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Aperion Care of Wilmington.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon on Friday, June 6, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley. Cremation rites will be accorded following the Mass.
He was born on December 6, 1955 in Brownsville, TX, the son of Emilio and Angelita (Garcia) Salinas. Leo married Charlene Anders on June 20, 1981 at the Kankakee County Courthouse.
Leo worked in logistics for forty-four years. He loved woodworking and carpentry. Leo was an outdoorsman and an avid hunter. He enjoyed watching classic movies, westerns, and old Hollywood. Leo spent time antiquing and visiting flea markets. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Leo was a family man who spent his time taking care of others.
Leo was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley.
Surviving is his wife Charlene of Bourbonnais; one son, David (Christene) Salinas of Woodridge, IL; one daughter, Lindsey (Daniel) Stenlund of Lowell, IN; one sister, Mary Salinas of Elwood, IL; three brothers, Oscar (Lisa) Salinas of Indianapolis, IN, Bobby Salinas and Roy (Stacie) Salinas, all of Richton Park, IL; five grandchildren, Jack and Beau Salinas, McKenzie, Adelyn, Kayden Stenlund; and many nieces and nephews. Leo is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Emilio Jr.
