John H. “Jack” Malmrose, 94, of Orland Park, formerly of Dolton, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Mass at St. Joseph Church in Bradley. Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Evergreen Park.

John was born on January 5, 1923, in Chicago, the son of Duane and Rosalind (Smith) Malmrose. John married Rose Marie LoBianco on September 6, 1947, in Chicago. She preceded him in death on August 2, 2012. John married Betty Lyons-Geary on October 12, 2014, in Oak Lawn at St. Linus Church.

John was a WWII Army Veteran. He enjoyed fishing and listening to music – especially Frank Sinatra and Doris Day. He was very involved at St. Mary of the Assumption in Riverdale.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Lyons-Geary of Orland Park; three sons John H. (Neomi) Malmrose of Boca Raton, FL, Robert Malmrose of Aurora and David Malmrose of Momence; one daughter Rosemarie (Chris) Benson of Bourbonnais; and four granddaughters Paige Malmrose, Lindsey Benson, Natalie Benson and Sophie Benson. Along with his former wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Joan Peterson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to  Good Shepherd Manor  in Momence.
