Doris M. Kanapackis, age 81, of Kankakee, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Miller Healthcare in Kankakee.
Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Bourbonnais.
She was born June 14, 1937 in Chicago, the daughter of Frank & Bessie Osborn Mahler. She married Bruno X. Kanapackis on September 24, 1960 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2011. She was a homemaker. Doris enjoyed traveling and gong to the casino.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and one son, Jeff. Surviving are one son and two daughters-in-law, Andrew & Heather Kanapackis of Oak Forest and Gail Kanapackis of Bourbonnais; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen & Tom Potoski of Bourbonnais; seven grandchildren, Christopher (Heather), Justin, Adam, Thomas, Tyler, Michael, and Delaney; and one great-granddaughter, Fiona.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
