Carol A. Fritz, age 85, of Bradley, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the University of Chicago Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral service on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Rev. Marcin Michalak will officiate the service.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Inurnment will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Herscher.
Carol born March 22, 1941 in Kankakee, the daughter of Edward & Isabelle Benoit Kanoski.
Carol married Joseph Fritz on February 20, 1960 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kankakee.
Carol was a former employee of Limestone School District. She had also been co-owner of Montgomery Ward in Bradley. Carol also sold Avon for more than 30 years.
She made and donated many afghans for her friends and neighbors and also made caps for newborns. Carol enjoyed reading and doing puzzles. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the CCW. She was recognized as Woman of the Year at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Herscher.
Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Joseph Fritz of Bradley; three daughters, Jolene Fritz of St. Anne, Mary & Jeff Hines of Texas, and Suzie Fritz of Mendota; two brothers, Ronald & Joan Kanoski of Springfield and Donald & Cindy Kanoski of Monee; three grandchildren, Corey Hines, Kyle (Caitlin) Hines, and Jacob Hines; two great-grandchildren; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Carol is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Thomas.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
