Rita A. Hamann, age 93, of Bourbonnais, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018, at her daughter-in-law’s home.
Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Bourbonnais.
Rita was born Sept. 2, 1924, in Kankakee. She married Vernon L. Hamann on Sept. 8, 1945, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Kankakee. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2010.
She retired from J.C. Penny Co. and had also worked for Bradley Roper. Rita enjoyed painting and doing yard work. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley.
Surviving are one daughter-in-law, Renee Hamann of Bourbonnais and two grandchildren, Donnie Life of Bourbonnais and Michelle Mecum of Delta, Colo.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and one son, Lt. Stephen Hamann.
