Michael O’Malley Godinez, age 23, of Clifton passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee. 

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Entombment will follow at Holy Sepulcher in Alsip.

He was born December 30, 1999 in Blue Island, the son of Michael A. & Sarah (Martinez) Godinez.

Michael was an Independent Contract Welder. He enjoyed fishing and riding dirt bikes. Most of all, Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving are his parents, Michael Godinez of Bourbonnais; his mother and stepfather, Sarah Martinez & Jamal McGee of Clifton; paternal grandparents, Maria & Miguel Godinez of Steger; maternal grandmother, Sheila O’Malley of Clifton; four sisters, Myah Martinez, Eriannah Martinez, Alena Hayes, and Sareyna Rosas, all of Clifton; one brother, Jamal McGee Jr. of Clifton; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many special friends. Michael is preceded in death by one sister, Moriah Cintora and one brother, Anthony Wicker.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family wishes.
