Margaret E. Strickland, age 96, of Bradley passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Presence St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass on Friday, January 19, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Rev. Anthony Nugent will celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow at Kankakee Memorial Gardens in Aroma Township. 

Margaret was born April 22, 1921 in Chicago, the daughter of John & Genevive Paulin O’Rourke. She married Edward J. Strickland Jr. on June 29, 1940, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1995.

Margaret enjoyed bowling, sewing, and was very good at Bingo. She was a jack of all trades. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Margaret was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley.

Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Betty & Jim Allison of Bradley and Jan Strickland of Lake Zurich; six grandchildren, George Strickland, Amanda Sterkenburg, Peggy Wilder, Angela Sands, Kelly Strickland, and Lindsey Strickland; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, Edward Strickland, she is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Ed Strickland and Bill Strickland; two sisters; and two brothers.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
