Lloyd L. “Gabby” Gadbois, age 92, of Kankakee died peacefully at his home at Heritage Village in Kankakee on Monday, January 28, 2019.

Visitation will be held from 12-4 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2019, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Rev. Charles Wheeler will celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Bourbonnais.

Lloyd was born January 4, 1927, in Kankakee, the son of Eugene & Zella (Chouinard) Gadbois. He married Margaret “Peggy” Henry on June 23, 1945, in Jacksonville, FL. She preceded him in death on April 10, 2017.
Gabby was an electrician and a member of the IBEW Local 176 for 45 years. He also worked as the Village of Bradley Electrical Inspector for 18 years. He was a Tool & Die maker for A.O. Smith and Ford Motor Corporation.

Gabby was a founding member of Kankakee Wood Carvers and a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Gabby was a veteran of the United States Navy Air Corps.

Surviving are four sons & four daughters-in-law, Barry & Linda Gadbois of Bourbonnais, Brad & Willa Gadbois of Blaine, MN, Brian & Kendra Gadbois of Bradley, and Brandon & Lori Gadbois of Bradley; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Bonnie Thompson of Bourbonnais, Brenda & Danny Moore of Houston, TX, and Beth & Dennis Bisaillon of Bradley; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mae Briggs of Elkhart, IN; and one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth & Beverly Gadbois of Denver, CO.

In addition to his wife of 72 years, Peggy Gadbois, Gabby is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Eugene Gadbois.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Presence Heritage Village.
