Judy L. Kilbride, age 86, of Kankakee passed away Monday, September 8, 2025, at the home of her daughter. 


Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home in Kankakee. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Kankakee.


Judy was born February 24, 1939 in Kankakee, the daughter of Clarence “Puff” & Margaret “Peg” (Crowley) Romary. Judy married Gerald Kilbride on July 29, 1961 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kankakee. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2025.


Judy was a retired Special Ed Director for Bourbonnais School District, where she had taught Special Ed prior. She was a graduate of St. Patrick Central High School, Graduate of Illinois State Normal University with her BS, and Loyola University for her MS. Judy was a former member of St. Joseph school board, board member of St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary, board member of KCTC, and the YMCA, and co-chair of the Kilbride Family Classic. She was an advocate for children with Autism. Judy was an avid Chicago Bulls fan and an avid golfer. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley.


Surviving are three sons, Mark Kilbride of Destin, FL, Andrew Kilbride (Liz Marek) of Ann Arbor, MI, and Thomas (Lindsey) Kilbride of Ann Arbor, MI; three daughters, Jennifer (Mike) Range of Highland, IL, Christine (Kevin) McGovern of Kankakee, and Mary Kilbride of Bradley; seventeen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary & Ron Study of Chicago; and one sister-in-law, Kathy Romary of Venice, FL. In addition to her husband, Judy is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Margaret Romary; and one brother, Joseph Romary.
