William C. “Bill” Zigrossi, born May 18, 1958 in Joliet, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024 at his home in Kankakee in the presence of loved ones and his beloved wife, Margo.

Bill was notoriously known for his sense of humor and affinity for wisecracks, but he would also be the first to lend a hand to his friends or family in times of need. Bill was a very active and proud member of AA for over 35 years, helping countless friends and loved ones achieve sobriety. Bill was remarkably hard-working and mechanically minded. He owned and operated Zigrossi Auto Repair in Kankakee, and if his yard was already meticulously cared for, he could be found riding his Harley or cruising country roads to swap meets.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Margo Zigrossi of Kankakee; his three children, Melissa Zigrossi of Gulfport, FL, Amanda Zigrossi of Bourbonnais, and Matthew Zigrossi (Allyson Anthony) of Champaign; two sisters, Toni Lynn (Mike) Thomas of Joliet and Suzie Zigrossi of Braidwood; three grandchildren, Raena Zigrossi, Rourke Zigrossi, and Tyson Struttmann; brothers-in-law, David Hietschold, Gil (Laura) Semmen; sister-in-law, Madeline (Mike) Van Acker; numerous nieces and nephews, and his two best friends and closest confidants, Mike Piper and Patrick Lorenc.

Bill is preceded in death by his, mother Suzanne (Costa) Zigrossi, his father Anthony Zigrossi, and two sisters, Janet Hietschold and Tina Zigrossi.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass in celebration of Bill’s life will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley, and cremation rites will be accorded following the Mass.

Memorials may be made to the charitable organization of the donor’s choice.
