Youth Ministry: Service

Catholic Heart Workcamp is a service opportunity, community building, and spiritual renewal ministry.  It is designed to give young people an opportunity to share their faith through actions by serving the poor, renewing their faith, and having some fun.  By the end of the week the youth will discover that they have been a real gift to the poor and lonely. 

A Catholic Heart experience is one way that teens can do their part to build hope in a hurting world.  This trip is about serving others, the poor and disabled, created in the Image of God.  “Whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me. (MT 25:40)  It’s a week focused on    revitalizing communities through home repair, and living as disciples of Christ through prayer, faith sharing, song, and fun.

The "Next Level Camp," which we will be participating in next summer,  has the same components as all other camps (prayer, skits, games, painting, yard work, & 4 corners) with the addition of daily Mass, an evening of Eucharistic Adoration and parish time on two nights.

The mission trip is open to Freshmen through 20 Year olds. 21 and older can attend as adults. Registration is open until Dec. 6.

All participants Meetings are Nov. 22, March 7, April 11, and May 16; in the Ministry Center at 7:00 PM

Regular Youth Ministry planning meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Monday each month @ 7:00 PM in the Ministry Center, feel free to attend if you need help with your mini-ministry No refunds:  Select your own replacement should you be unable to go for any reason.

Anyone who is interested in attending an extended trip, such as CHWC, YLC, TEC, or learning more about them should attend the registration and information meeting Sunday   November 22, 2009 at 7:00 PM in the Ministry Center with at least one parent. At this meeting we will share our faith, prepare for our journey, go over details about each trip, and fundraising. Teens and parents are expected to attend all meetings, and participate in fundraising, and mini-ministries. Click here for the form, fill it out, print it and return it to St. Joseph's Youth Ministry with your deposit by the registration deadline.
