"We Come to Share Our
Story ..."

In partnership with parents,
the RE program at St. Joseph Parish has been designed to help each student
understand the message revealed by God which the church proclaims, realize
the rights and responsibilities in the communities of which they are a part
and instill a willingness to serve the Christian community as well as all
humankind.

RE Class: 4:30-5:45 p.m. Wednesdays.
Welcome to the St. Joseph Religious Education
Program. We have been given the opportunity to help
strengthen families and pass on faith, by learning
together what it means to be Catholic. Parents who have
enrolled children in the program have shown a commitment
to their child’s faith life; the commitment they
accepted at their baptism. By working together, and
supporting one another’s efforts, we can assist parents
in keeping that commitment.

Last year’s Religious Education theme:
Passing on our Faith — Generation to
Generation leads us directly to this year’s
theme: We Come to Share Our Story.
Throughout history, our faith has been built
on the stories found in Scripture. The same
faith we have chosen to share with our
children. |
|
Just as our children learn through stories
all about their families, it is through the
same sharing of stories that we help to
develop their faith. So we would invite you,
if you haven’t already done so, to share
your faith story with your children. Even
if, by your definition, it is not what you
feel is exemplary! As hard as it may be, it
is good for our kids to see us fail or make
mistakes. It is was what we do with those
failures that brings the lessons home.
Remember, scripture isn’t filled with
stories about perfect people who always did
the right thing; but the moral of the
stories are always that we don’t deserve
God’s love and forgiveness, we just have
it! |
|
The RE program focuses on basic
themes, including the Trinity, morality and the sacraments. |
 |
 |
We recognize parents as the
first and foremost teachers of their
children in faith and morals. |
