The President's Award for Academic
Excellence is earned by those students who have maintained a grade average
of 90 percent or higher during their junior high years. These students have
participated school activities throughout these years as well. Recipients
were given a certificate and a letter from President Obama.

Those graduates involved in the Student Leadership Council were
recognized for their efforts during the awards banquet. The council,
which is comprised of 10 seventh and eighth graders, meets weekly
during recess times and study hall periods to plan service projects.
They later rally the student body to participate in helping others.
